About Dance Techniques
Dance Techniques has been teaching students to perform with excellence for over thirty years. Dance Techniques is an established dance studio located in Lexington, South Carolina. We offer classes in Tap, Clogging, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Tumbling, and Hip Hop. Classes start at age two and extend all the way to adult.
Our goal at Dance Techniques is to provide quality dance training in a fun and structured environment. Whether taking classes for enjoyment
or planning a future career in dance, our students will gain the knowledge, skills, and discipline required to develop them into a talented performer. Each student will be given the same opportunites. We appreciate the opportunity to teach your child to “Perform With Excellence”.

About the Owner
Dina Davis has been dancing since she was six years old. She graduated from Columbia College with a B.A. degree in Dance in 1986. Dina competed in the Miss South Carolina Pageant as Miss Cayce- West Columbia in 1986. She has entertained audiences in Branson, Missouri, Memphis, Tennessee, World’s Fair in New Orleans, The USS Yorktown, Opryland, Premier and Carnival Cruise Lines. She has won many awards dancing including World Champion Clogger. Dina has also donated many hours of her time entertaining the military as part of the Redd Reynolds Caravan of Stars. In additon to owning and
operating Dance Techniques for 32 years, she has been employed by Lexington School District 2 as a dance instructor in their Fine Arts Program for 36 years. She and her husband, Chris, of 31 years, reside in Lexington. They have two sons, Jeremy (27) and Jordan (22), and an Australian Shepherd, Sonoma.
About the Instructors
Trina Moore is 42 years old. She has been dancing for 37 years. Trina has been teaching at Dance Techniques for 25 years. She has taught children from ages 2- adult. Trina was named “Clogger of the Year” in 1991. Trina has won numerous awards at clogging competitions throughout the Southeast. Trina has also performed at Walt Disney World, Washington DC, Niagara Falls, and on Carnival Cruise Lines.
Jennifer Ekovich is 33 years old. She has been dancing for 30 years. This is her 13th year teaching at Dance Techniques. Jennifer was awarded Dance Techniques “Student of the Year”. Jennifer has won numerous awards at various competitions. Over the past 20 years Jennifer has also entertained audiences throughout the Southeast while performing with “A Class Act” dance teams.
Meghan Leaphart is a 27 year old graduate of White Knoll High School and the University of South Carolina. Meghan has been an active member of “A Class Act” performance teams for 17 years. She has also won numerous awards and performed throughout the Southeast. Meghan was the 2005 Dance Techniques Student of the Year and was an assistant and substitute teacher for 3 years. We are very excited that Miss Meghan is back for her 11th year as an instructor and member of the staff at Dance Techniques.
Emily Hutchison is a 20 year old junior at the University of South Carolina, where she majors in nursing. Emily will begin her clinical rotation this fall. Emily has been dancing for 18 years and has been a member of Class Act performance teams for more than 10 years. She has also been an assistant at Dance Techniques for 5 years. We are excited to have her back teaching for her second year.
Mallory Leaphart is 22 years old and is joining our teaching staff this year. Mallory has been dancing for 19 years and has been a member of Class Act performance teams for more than 10 years. She has been an assistant at Dance Techniques for 5 years. Mallory graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina, earning her B.A. in Middle Level Education. She is working as a teacher of Creative Writing and Yearbook at Pleasant Hill Middle School.
